This project focused on creating a fun and playful packaging for kids to celebrate Hag Ellaila, a traditional Emirati celebration on the night before the mid of Sha’aban. During this festive occasion, kids visit neighbors, chant folk songs, and collect candy—similar to a Middle Eastern version of Halloween!
Inspired by a workshop on movable origami structures led by an origami artist, I experimented with foldable designs to create a unique packaging concept. The structure showcases vibrant neon-colored geometric patterns, designed to capture children's attention and spark joy. Additionally, the packaging includes a tag featuring snippets of local Hag Ellaila folk chants, enhancing the cultural experience as kids engage with the celebration. The result is an eye-catching design that combines tradition with playful creativity.
