Inspired by nostalgic memories of childhood, where boys played with wooden spinning tops, wheels, and sticks, while girls performed traditional Emirati dances in colorful dresses, I designed a modern and playful metal can to celebrate Hag Ellaila, a traditional Emirati celebration on the night before the mid of Sha’aban.
This project was a collaboration with fellow designer Jheena Verma. Together, we aimed to capture the joy and vibrancy of these cherished traditions, bringing a contemporary touch to a beloved cultural celebration.
